Business Partnership Corporate

Charles Leek and Sons acquired by private individual

Gear manufacturer

This established business, trading in Leek since 1896 and run by four generations of the same family, had been on the market for two years when its owners were recommended to the Business Partnership.

An honest, up front assessment of any business is key to what we do as businesses sell when all parties have a clear idea of what needs to be achieved and how.

At our first meeting, we advised the owner on why we felt the business had not sold and then worked with him for six months, making specific improvements before putting it back on the market.

This, of course, took time but the rewards were certainly worthwhile. A buyer was found, Jonathan Bell, and a sale completed less than five months later at more than four times net earnings. As a result of our advice, the owner was able to preserve the family business and keep all of his staff employed.
