This niche business created and fabricated plywood linings for commercial vehicles, inparticular vans used as delivery vehicles. The owners had developed strong relationships with local commercial vehicle dealers, contract hire and lease companies and provided a bespoke solution for all types of vehicles and applications.
Based at a large modern industrial unit, the company operated sophisticated systems for designing and cutting the patterns for each vehicle, linked to manufacturers’ cutting patterns.
State-of-the-art computer systems were linked to CNC saws and milling equipment and panel optimisation software maximised the yield from sheet material. The products were supplied mostly to new vehicles and offered the choice of installed or supply only.
The business was sold to a South African family who had owned and run a business in their home country and was looking to relocate to the UK to support their children’s education.
